Who you're buying from, what you get, and what stays yours. Written to be read, not to be survived.
Who you are buying from
Palpito is made and sold by Andrea Pierantoni, an individual practitioner in Italy. There is no company behind it and no registered office — it is one person and one program.
Purchases themselves are not made from me directly. Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd) is the merchant of record for every Palpito sale: Paddle is the seller on your receipt, takes the payment, handles VAT and any applicable sales tax, and issues refunds. Paddle's own terms apply to the payment transaction; the terms on this page cover the product you receive and the licence you get to it.
What Palpito is
Palpito is a desktop application that generates MIDI CC expression curves — the continuous controller data that makes orchestral sample libraries phrase, breathe and move. It writes MIDI files that you then use in your own DAW with your own libraries. It is not a sample library, not a plugin, and not a service. It runs entirely on your machine, offline: no account, no telemetry, no cloud processing, nothing sent anywhere.
The free app
The Palpito app is free. Download it, use it, keep it — for personal or commercial work, with no time limit, no watermark on your output, and nothing to pay. It is not a trial that expires. If you never buy Pro, nothing you have already made stops working.
Palpito Pro — the price
Palpito Pro unlocks the paid tier of the same app. It is a one-time purchase: €49 as a founding pre-order before the launch on 22 October 2026, and €99 from that date. Prices are in euro; Paddle adds VAT or local tax at checkout where the law requires it, and shows you the final amount before you pay.
There is no subscription — Pro is not rented, and it does not lapse if you stop paying, because there is nothing to keep paying. And Pro comes with lifetime updates and upgrades: every future update and every future upgrade of the product reaches you at no further cost. There will be no paid major version for people who already own Pro. That is a promise made in public and it is not one I intend to walk back.
Your licence
Buying Pro gives you a personal, perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Palpito Pro — on your own machines, for your own work, including commercial work, for as long as you like. Your licence is a small signed file issued to your email address. It carries no expiry date, is not tied to a specific computer, and is never checked over the network: the app verifies it locally, offline. Install it on your desktop and your laptop; take it with you when you change machine.
What you're asked not to do is the obvious short list: don't share, resell, publish or sub-licence your licence file, and don't decompile the app or strip its licensing to hand the paid tier to people who haven't bought it. Each licence names its buyer, so a leaked one is traceable back to the account it was issued to. Beyond that, use it as hard as you want.
What you make is yours
You own your output — completely and unconditionally. Every MIDI file, every CC curve, every phrase Palpito generates for you belongs to you, the moment it is written. I claim no copyright, no licence, no royalty and no credit in the music you make with it, and there is no revenue threshold above which that changes. Sell it, sync it, score a film with it, release it under your own name. Palpito is a tool, like a pencil: what comes out of it is your work, not mine.
Refunds
14 days, no questions asked, the full amount back — and pre-orders are refundable in full at any time before delivery. The whole policy lives on its own page: the refund policy. It sits on top of your statutory rights under EU and Italian consumer law, including the 14-day right of withdrawal, and takes nothing away from them.
No warranty beyond the honest one
Palpito is provided as is. I've tested it hard and I use it myself, but I can't promise it is free of defects, or that it will suit every library, every template and every piece of music you bring to it — which is exactly why the app is free to try before any money changes hands, and why the refund window is unconditional.
To the extent the law allows, I'm not liable for indirect or consequential losses — lost work, lost time, lost sessions — arising from using Palpito, and any liability is limited to what you actually paid for it. Keep backups of your projects, as you would with any tool. None of this limits the rights that Italian and EU consumer law give you and that cannot be waived by a page like this one; where those rights conflict with anything here, those rights win.
Privacy
The app collects nothing. If you join the mailing list, the only personal data involved is your email address, and you can leave whenever you want. When you buy, two hands are involved and they do different jobs. Paddle is the merchant of record: it takes the payment, holds your billing details, handles the VAT and sends your receipt, under its own privacy terms — I never see your card. The licence is mine to deliver: your email address and your licence record are kept on my side, and the licence file itself is generated and emailed to you by me. Governing law, and changes to these terms
These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your own country of residence and can bring proceedings in your own courts — nothing here moves you out of them.
If these terms change, the new version appears on this page with a new date below. Changes are never retroactive: the terms that apply to your purchase are the ones published on the day you bought. Your perpetual licence and the lifetime-updates pledge cannot be revoked by a later edit of this page.
